World Book Day 2023
Friday 10th February, 2023
Thursday 3rd of March
This year for World Book Day, Arthur Terry is going all out! We have a wide range of activities and events planned for this year, and we want our staff and students to take part! Keep an eye out for notices from the Library, the English department and our Literacy Innovation Lead, Miss Murphy.
What to expect:
- All students in KS3 (years 7-9) are invited to dress up as a beloved literary character on Thursday March 3rd.
- All staff are invited to dress as a beloved literary character on the 3rd.
- Scholastic book fair will be in school for the whole week to allow students to purchase books and other products. Parent pay information will follow.
- World Book Day tokens will be available – physical tokens for year 7, and online for older students.
- Tutor groups will be invited to dress their doors, inspired by favourite books and characters, for the week. This will be a competition with prizes for the best doors in each year group.
- Tutor time activities around reading and books.
- Books will be added to the praise shop, and will be available for students to buy with their praise points – this will carry on even after the week of World Book Day.
So, wonderful students, parents and staff of the Arthur Terry family: get excited, start planning those amazing outfits and door designs and lets celebrate World Book Day in style!
Best wishes,
The English department, Library Team and Leadership Group
