Welcome to Lincoln House!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the best house in Arthur Terry: Lincoln Lions. My name is Abigail Makinde, and I am incredibly honoured to be your House Captain this year. For those of you who do not know me, I’m in Year 13, and I was a member of Lincoln Lions in Years 7 and 8 before the house system was abandoned. Outside of school, I enjoy playing football, sprinting for my track team, playing piano for my church, doing volunteering with my sister and so on; I am always excited to take on new challenges. As your House Captain, my main goal is to create a supportive and enthusiastic community where every member feels valued and motivated to contribute. This year, I will focus on three key priorities:

Firstly, fostering teamwork. I believe that when we work together, we can achieve amazing things. Whether it’s sports, academics, or creative competitions, I want everyone to feel patriotic, encouraged to participate, and support each other as will I be here to support everyone in need.

Secondly, increasing house spirit. Let’s make our house a place known for its energy, positivity, and pride. A lion is the king of the jungle, so we are the kings and queens of our school, therefore we must make sure we act like it. I plan to organise fun events and encourage more involvement so we can build stronger connections and unforgettable memories.

Finally, recognising effort. Success isn’t about winning; it’s about the hard work and dedication each of us puts in. Everyone’s contributions will be celebrated, no matter how big or small.
