Welcome to York House!

Determined and resilient, the York Vikings of Arthur Terry will be captained by me, Carter Lyth. Together we stand aloud and proud with our signature colour of yellow, embracing the school values of pride, kindness, and readiness. I would gladly like to tell you a little about myself along with the aims and goals that I would like to achieve within the next year. As an individual, I enjoy talking with my friends and peers, discussing how self development and reflection can lead us to becoming the greatest versions of ourselves. This leading to producing work which reflects us as fine individuals and ensures the best potential future for us and others. Linking to a personal interest of mine, strengthening the bond between the students and staff of Arthur Terry is something I hope to improve, especially bridging the gap between returning and new students. Ensuring everyone feel safe and comfortable within our house is a major priority of mine as it is something which will improve the Arthur Terry community and York House cohesion. The inclusion of all students in whole school events is something that will strengthen the York Vikings, allowing us to gain as many house points as possible while forming house-wide bonds and friendships. As a competitive individual, it is my dream, as I imagine it is many of yours, to win the house cup and come out as victorious. It is a promise of mine that we will come together as a house, working our hardest to obtain victory over the other houses of Arthur Terry.

The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership is committed to keeping our students safe, both in school and the wider community. As part of our safeguarding arrangements, we have a two-way information sharing agreement in place with the local police authority. The agreement is compliant with Crime & Disorder Act 1998 (s.115) and Data Protection Act 1998(s.29.3; s.35.2.), and focuses on preventing young people from becoming involved or further involved in crime and anti-social behaviour as a victim or offender.
